On my way to work this morning, I was listening to a story about police officers in New Orleans shooting civilians in the week following hurricane Katrina. A gentleman was recounting his experiences, telling about how his brother was shot in the shoulder. That reminded me of how Selena died. She was shot in the shoulder, too, but by the president of her fan club. Because of all the blood vessels that run through the shoulder, that wound is often fatal as it was in both of these instances. And that’s how I ended up with I Could Fall In Love stuck in my head today.

Just saw this comment on the Daily Show episode from last night with Trey Parker & Matt Stone. At the end of the show, Jon Stewart reminds the guests that whenever they are in New York, “Steak dinner” was what he said so we assume they are talking about food but it’s really anyone’s guess as far as what their crazy comedian code language is:
‘i saddened by the fact that 3 of my favorite people apparently eat cows… it’s not only not nice or necessary, it’s stupid & dangerous considering modern “farming”‘

Can we stop judging each other? Eating and parenting and loving, these are personal, emotional decisions and we’re all doing our best. Also, it’s a COMEDY SHOW! Also, if you want to influence people, do a quick proofread, mkay?

For the past 4 mornings, our son has awoken with a dry diaper. For the last 3 naps at daycare, he has awoken with dry pants. Since Monday, he has had no accidents.
I realize there will be accidents along the way but I’m going to go ahead and say, MY BOY IS POTTY TRAINED! Praise the flying spaghetti monster!
